Saturday Prayer Guide

This is a suggested guide you may find useful during the open time of prayer (there will be an opening and closing to our prayer time, and the middle is for prayer over the items below or whatever God has laid on your heart)

Tabernacle Prayer:  When the Israelites entered the Tabernacle, they passed through seven stations, following God’s instructions, to experience His presence.  Today, even though we no longer need the physical Tabernacle to meet with God, these same steps can help us connect with Him.  (see the 21 Days of Prayer Guide pages 15-25 for additional guidance)

  1.  Outer Court – Thanksgiving and Praise
  • Praise God for:
    • Being our Eternal King (Jeremiah 10:10)
    • Being the compassionate and gracious God (Exodus 34:6)
  • Thank God for:
    • Your life
    • The Body of Christ – Nexus and the “Big C” Church
    • The opportunity to share Jesus with others (family, friends, co-workers, the community)”
  1. The Brazen Altar – The Cross of Jesus
  • Thank God for the gift of Jesus Christ and His sacrifice and love
  • Spend a bit of time letting the power of the cross and what it means for your life really settle into your spirit – this is where freedom is won and our love for Jesus increases.
  1. The Laver – Cleansing and Preparing
  1. Review you last week and confess your sins to God (as we are working through Gospel Fluency – what lies have you believed this week, what thoughts did you struggle with taking captive, where have you had unbelief, etc.)
  2. Turn away from the sins and towards God
  3. Give Him your life as a living sacrifice God (as we are working through Gospel Fluency – what truths do you need to take roots and produce fruit in your life)
  1. The Candlestick – The Holy Spirit
    • Pray for the Holy Spirit to give you wisdom, understanding and might to share the Good News this week
  1. The Table of Shewbread – The Word of God
  • Pray through these verses for Nexus, so that God can use us to introduce Jesus to those who don’t know Him:

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  (1 Corinthian 13:1-7)

  1. The Altar of Incense – Worship
    • Thank God for making His presence available to you – specifically for Who He is and how He has moved in your life:
      • God is perfect. Jesus lived perfectly for me. He is my righteousness.
      • God loves me. Jesus died for my sins. I am loved and forgiven.
      • God is powerful and mighty. Jesus rose from the dead. I am more than a conqueror in him and can be bold.
  1. The Ark of the Covenant – Intercession
  • Pray for those you interact and connect with where you live, work, learn and play:
    • Friends
    • Family
    • Co-workers
    • Acquaintances
  • Pray for those living around the Nexus building that do not know Jesus:
    • Deliver them from the hold the enemy has upon them
    • God would give them the Spirit of wisdom and revelation of who Jesus is
    • Opportunities to serve those around the building
    • Opportunities to share the Good News
    • They would become sons and daughters of the Most High
