Saturday Prayer Guide 10/17

Saturday Prayer Guide – October 17, 2020

Tabernacle Prayer:  When the Israelites entered the Tabernacle, they passed through seven stations, following God’s instructions, to experience His presence.  Today, even though we no longer need the physical Tabernacle to meet with God, these same steps can help us connect with Him.  (see the 21 Days of Prayer Guide pages 15-25 for additional guidance)

  1.  Outer Court – Thanksgiving and Praise
  • Praise God for:
    • Being our victorious King (I Timothy 1:17)
    • Our peace (Isaiah 32:17-18)
  • Thank God for:
    • His presences
    • The Body of Christ – Nexus and the “Big C” Church
    • Our pastors
  1. The Brazen Altar – The Cross of Jesus
  • Thank God for His plan of salvation
  • Thank Him for Jesus’ sacrifice for you
  1. The Laver – Cleansing and Preparing
  1. Keep a short account with God, confessing those attitudes and actions that are not in line with His will for you.
  2. Turn away from the sins and towards God
  3. 1 John 1:9  If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
  1. The Candlestick – The Holy Spirit
    • Pray for the Holy Spirit to lead, guide, and direct you this week.
  1. The Table of Shewbread – The Word of God
  • Pray through this verse for Nexus, so that God can use us.

We continually ask God to fill you with the knowledge of His will through all the wisdom and understanding that the Spirit gives, so that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and please Him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God.  Colossians 1:9-10.

  1. The Altar of Incense – Worship
    • Thank God for making His presence available to you – specifically for Who He is and how He has moved in your life:
      • God is perfect. Jesus lived perfectly for me. He is my righteousness.
      • God loves me. Jesus died for my sins. I am loved and forgiven.
      • God is powerful and mighty. Jesus rose from the dead. I am more than a conqueror in him and can be bold.
      • Your ways, God, are holy.  What god is as great as our God?  You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.  Psalm 77:13-14.
  1. The Ark of the Covenant – Intercession
  • Pray for those you interact and connect with where you live, work, learn and play:
  • Friends
  • Family
  • Co-workers
  • Acquaintances
  • Your neighbors and those living near the church.
  • In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your father in heaven.  Matthew 5:16.
