An invitation to a brand new beginning

To make Jesus “lord” of our lives is a willful decision to submit to God and His plan and purpose for our lives. As we turn from our old ways and ask Him for forgiveness from our sins, we begin to reorient our lives around the teachings of Jesus.

1.

Jesus
was resurrected
from the dead.

Without the resurrection there is no faith, Christianity, or any hope for the future. Jesus rose from the dead, appeared to many eyewitnesses, and is still at work today through the Holy Spirit. His resurrection isn’t just about our future, but the work of renewal and restoration that God wants to do in our lives and our world in the present.

2.

Jesus
saved us
by grace.

We are not saved by our good deeds, nor do we have the ability to earn our way into Heaven. We are saved by the gracious act of Jesus willingingly laying down his life on a cross, resurrecting from the dead, and establishing His power and victory over sin.

3.

Jesus
is God.

Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, worked miracles and gave us an example to follow. He is fully God and fully man and now sits at the right hand of the Father to intercede for us.  Through the life and teachings of Jesus we learn a new way to be human.

4.

Jesus
told us
to love.

Love isn’t simply an emotion, it’s an action first. All of us want to belong, feel accepted, and significant. If we truly understand the depths of love and grace of Jesus that has forgiven us of ALL our sin and shortcomings, we will strive to love ALL people and show them that there is no greater thing than experiencing the love and forgiveness of Jesus.

5.

Jesus
told us
to go.

As the Father sent the Son and the Son sent the Holy Spirit, we are called to be sent out into the world.  We have a role to play in God’s story of redemption in the world.  Therefore, we are told to GO! Jesus can and will do great things through YOU and our community at Nexus Church!
